Welcome to Cancer be Glammed.
For women who want to stay stylish (dare we say hip?) pampered, and informed during cancer treatment and recovery.
Cancer be Glammed was born from the concept that a cancer diagnosis shouldn’t mean you have to sacrifice style, comfort, and, most importantly, your self-esteem.
We could rant about Lisa’s breast cancer or Ellen’s chemotherapy to fight a rare blood disorder, but we would rather dish about something more uplifting (and we don’t mean Lisa’s mastectomy bra!)
We don’t know about you but we were unprepared for the side effects surgery and treatment would bring nor did we know where to find clothing and products to recover in comfort and style.
We created the Cancer be Glammed e-boutique to provide easy on-line access to post- op apparel, fashion finds, pampering products, unique gifts and more… Here on our blog, we will share our own tips & advice along with recommendations and expert opinions from members of the Cancer be Glammed Crew.
ALSO…We want to hear from you!
Leave a COMMENT (below) to tell us about your "must have" products that kept (or keep you) feeling good and glammed during your ride on the cancer rollercoaster!
Lisa will get the blog rolling.
Lisa: If you are like me and have been put into menopause from your treatment, (chemo-pause as I like to say) it’s hot flash central! I constantly cycle between being too hot, breaking sweats, (yuck- not very glam) and being cold. To combat this I recommend dressing in layers.
For starters I prefer all shirts with breathability (like cotton), or ones that are made from a wicking material. Wicking materials draw moisture away from your skin and into the fabric to keep you dry. This material can be found in camisoles and bras, sportswear and now, even in sleepwear.
Hot Flash Nightie & PJ’s
For warmth (when the hot flash turns into a "cold" flash) I reach for my pashmina or wrap shawl (very fashionable.) Makes a great alternative to your old beloved cardigan!
